Newbie - running boards advice, please ...
Hi, Charlene here - am posting here for a friend in need of info.
2001 Ranger 4.0 engine 4 door 2 wd - she wants running boards for the full length of cab doors
She is a youthful seventy (70) year old, still working, woman who recently purchased this truck. She is about 5'5" and considerably overweight (probably 220 or so) and has had both shoulders reverse replacement. She needs a little help getting into the cab.
Wants it to attach to the frame, not the body. SS or chrome with the specific step area flattened and wide. Durability and sturdy is a must. Of course, a reasonable price or winter clearance sale would be great.
Any info and guidance is greatly appreciated. thanks much

...running boards or Nerf bars ?
Yes, that is along the line very much. I do think the actual step has to be wider though. So, would I be looking for "Nerf" bars or running boards ? Are running boards flat the entire length ?
Someone posted none are made, including OEM, that attach to the frame. I think I will have to find that in print somewhere so I can show her.
Any recommendations as to the better brands (even if it isn't the name brands ) ?

These are running boards, the first link were more of the step bars or nerf bars they are significantly more expensive. I know westin are very solid, as well as the factory ones. but most of what you find will be step or nerf bars.
