How to take apart headlights?

How to take apart headlights?

I want to paint my headlights black. I can get my headlights out. But i dont know how to get the light assembly apart. Any ideas?

I know they have to go into the oven , but at what temp and for how long , you'll have to search the site.It's been covered here before , but it's been a while.

i spent 50$ on ebay and bought the oems in black and it came with the black corners saved the stress of melting the headlights and plus side i sold the stocks for 150 so made money off the mod

ive cooked mine before its not as hard as you think. cook them at 225 or as close to that as your oven can go. keep an eye on them obviously if there melting its been to long. but around 8 to 10 min did it for me and the glue that ford uses to seal it can be a complete pain to get apart i used a flat head screw driver to peal apart dont try to pry the whole thing open at one time do section by section may have to reheat it once or twice.
