On the bumper or behind the grille?

I got some Hella's from Ty(Tys 4x4 FTW) and I can't decide if I want to mount them on the front bumper or behind the grille. What do you guys think? Oh and post up pictures of your lights and how you mounted them.

They are more functional on the bumper, but look better behind the grille. Yeah, I’m no help.

This is difficult... I'm really thinking about mounting them on the bumper.

If you are going to use them all the time put them on the bumper if your not put them behind the grill, they look way better behind the grill though.

Just make sure it's a strong spot where you mount them. Some people have complained about the light bouncing, mine only bounces on really sh***y gravel roads

Don't be swayed Tyler. It's way cooler behind the grill.

Don't you want to be a cook kid?

Behind the grille. Mounted upside down to the fiberglass header panel.

Hey John could you do me a favor and take a picture of how your lights are mounted to the header panel? Thanks

No problem man. Basically drilled a hole through both levels of the header panel. The bottom level to fit the light mounting bolt and the top level to allow a socket to pass through. In the pic, the grille covers the larger clearance hole. Then just dremel or file out what is in the way of the lights mounting brackets. It doesn't look like there is much material there to bolt the light too and I was paranoid with melting the grille so I placed the lights as far back as possible but they have been fine mounted there for over a year.
