Color matching 2008 front bumper to DWB

I just bought a 2008 bumper for $110 w/ fogs and I'd like to be a little original and color match it to my truck, which happens to be a 2002 Deep wedgewood blue XLT.

The bumper itself:

what i'd like it to look like (obviously round fogs vs. square):

Now I am inexperienced when it comes to painting stuff, so I guess im just looking for a little guidance before I cave and go to a body shop.

Basically, Im sure I could find my color online but how should I prep/finish?

A good cleaning is obvious, than sanding im assuming to get rid of that glossy smooth finish. Any suggestions for this process i.e. what grit?

than several coats of the DWB color, but after that how do I regain that glossy/smooth finish like how it comes stock?

Any suggestions and/or helpful tips are most definitely welcome :)

Id just let the pro's do it, shouldnt cost much, if you do plan on doing it yourself, get some scrap pannels to practice on

For the deal you got on it have a shop spray it. Shouldn't be too bad.

Ya im going to call and get some quotes tomorrow after school. I do kind of like the thought of doing it myself though, like how I repainted the front valence, back plastic part of the bumper, and mudflaps all black. Obviously not quite as intensive as this would be however

My question is if I were to have a shop do it, do I just hand them the whole bumper and say have at it? I took a look at how the white portion is attached, and it looks impossible to remove without breaking stuff.

(and ya I didn't realize I had such a good deal until just recently :) )

You can give them the whole thing but I would separate them.

^ is there a how to? It looks near impossible without breaking all the little rivets and such.

Anyways I called around today and got some quotes. Basically the average was over $200! Hell no am I paying that much to have such a little amount painted professionally! And I was thinking about buying a tonneau cover and getting that painted too

Do all the prep work and then just have them spray it. Should save $75+.

Ya I agree.

Didn't end up talking to anyone today about the bumper directly, but my friends dad owns a body work shop and is going to show me on Sunday how to properly prep it myself for painting. Not quite sure if he's going to give me a deal or not but either way its getting sanded/primed sunday or Monday.

my other issue has been wiring up the fog lights to my truck, which has no fog light harness stock. Thats been interesting and I may need your guys's help once my adapter arrives.

Slight update, the bumper is currently at a shop and will be picked up tomorrow after school. Also, it ended up costing me $0.00 out of my own pocket :D

Gotcha. Ya im quite pleased with my purchase, it really beefs up the look of the truck despite being entirely stock. And getting a color matched bumper with fogs for just $110 doesn't hurt either

as a side note I also got my adapters for the fog lights yesterday, only no one told me until I could no longer get the rest of the electrical stuff I need at Napa. Since I have college finals today no wiring it up until tomorrow
