The 2001~2003 "powerdome" hood came on Edges and 4x4's only. 2WD XL/XLT had a flatter hood.

And it's a stinking heavy hood. I traded mine to a member here for his 2000 aluminum hood.

Even with that, my Ranger is up to 4650 pounds without me in it...

I don't but I think it's 20 pounds or more. The aluminum one is as surprisingly light when you heft it (for it's size) as the fiberglass one is heavy.

Yes, if that's what you want. Bob answered your question in the first post.

The FX4 is a special XLT 4x4 and it does have the powerdome also.

Will the powerdome line up with the XL grille? I haven't seen any pics of her truck so I dunno if it's an XL or not.

junk....nevermind...

Well, maybe you could find someone like me who wants to trade. The problem is finding one the same color -- you might have to have it painted.

Let's face it, these things aren't just laying around. It's either a junkyard or you order one new or you trade for one.

I was blessed that a local guy wanted a powerdome so I gave him mine and took his aluminum hood. Hope you find somebody also.

Yeah I got John's old hood. You def need to swap hoods out just to lose that scoop. I can't believe D hasn't ripped it off for you. There is a bone yard in Jamestown NY that deals in all Fords. They are called Busti auto. If you want their number shoot me a PM and I will get it to you. Hell if they have a hood D and I could go snag it for you.

The Powerdome hood will not line up with the XL (Billet) grille. You'll need to get the Honeycomb grill found on the 4x4 and Edge models.

If you plan on putting the Powerdome hood on a 2004-2005, you'll need the hood hinges from a 2001-2003, as well as the (01,02,03)Honeycomb grille. But then you'll also need to swap out the header panel from an 01,02,03.

I did this with my 2005. It took more than a weekend when I eventually realized what parts I needed.

Here's a pic of my '01 XLT 4x4 with my brother's '01 XL grille....no fitment issues:

'01 XL wearing '01 XLT 4x4 grille:

And here's a comparison of a '01 XLT 4x4 vs. a '01 XL 2wd....Best shot I could find of the two together to compare the hoods. Note: The black XL has aftermarket hood scoops on it, those are just taped on....just ignore those ugly things:

Bud....hate to tell you this....but most of the above is wrong. I've done it. Check the above post. The '98-'03 XL/2wdXLT and '01-'03 EDGE/4x4 hoods are all interchangable. No grille changes needed....NONE. You can run your XL billet grille....no problems. I ran a XL grille with my XLT 4x4....no problems. No fitment issues. It may look like fitment issues, but it's not. no interference with my hood hitting my brother's grille what soever. check the pics. I'm not trying to be a d!ck by anymeans, my friend. Her ranger is a '01-03 XL.

Ford should bring the powerdome hood back for the Rangers. The 01-03 look of the hood kicks ***...........now the little bumps on it, just doesn't do it justice.
