Problems installing pop and lock electronic tailgate
I have an '09 Ranger and I'm trying to install the pop and lock electronic tailgate lock (PL8200).
The instructions say models up to 2009 look for the pink/orange and pink/black.
I don't have these colors in any of the wiring harnesses. So I popped open the passengers side door and the power lock has 5 wires:
-white/violet
-grey/violet
-black/yellow
-white/blue
I tried different combinations of attaching the pop and lock actuator wires to these 5 wires and none seem to work. Some combinations actually locked and unlocked the doors as a trigger, but none actually triggered the pop n' lock actuator open/close.
I read around here saying that it should be the white/violet and grey/violet, but that didn't trigger anything on the pop n' lock actuator.
Can anybody please help who's had this problem with the PL8200 on an 2009 Ranger? If it makes a difference, this is a Canadian model?
Thanks!

On my 2003 XLT on the passenger panel I did find the Pink/Black and Pink/Orange wire..there are several harness on the door panel. Find the harness that goes up to the door hole....
Basically there are 3 groups of bundled wire in passenger panel...you have to dig behind and you should find the wires that goes up and out to the door. I recommend using a flash light since the pink/orange wire can be blinded...good luck
