Raptor look...

Jesus Christ, people are so freakin' quick to slam somebody's ideas, of tell another person what a fool he is, or ,especially, jumping the gun when a simple question is asked. 6.2, I didn't say a damn thing about wanting my truck to look like a raptor. If I wanted a truck that looked like a Raptor...I'd go out and buy one of the S.O.B.'s. All I mentioned was that I had found a website that had a truck with composite "Raptor" like look to it. I went on to ask if anyone had heard of this particular modification. I have a Ranger. I like my Ranger. And I ain't just fixin' to change the beautiful lines that the designers at FoMoCo put on paper when they started working on the "Ranger" concept.
This website I am new to. Probably haven't been a member for more than two or three weeks. I enjoy reading the things people have to say about one of the toughest, well loved trucks to ever grace our highways and backwoods. And it is good that we ALL take a special pride in her appealing lines. And I don't know many people that are as rabid and quick to defend this "miracle" of engineering and design. Hell...if we didn't feel that way about our trucks there would not exist this shared love and respect for them. And this website allows us to learn from one another. To share ideas and offer solutions to what problems that jump up and bite us in the *** from time to time. To have a little conversation laced with some give and take.
I was just asking a question, that's all. But even if I DID want to modify the lines we all ALL love so much...even if I wanted carbon fiber panels on my truck it would be nobody's business but my own.
I appreciate your input on the matter...I really do...but bottom line...this ol' Texas Boy is going to do what he damn well pleases.
Have a nice day...

See...there you go again. I never suggested that you not express your opinion. I think your opinion is just as valuable and pertinent as anyone else's. I like to think I learn from them. I believe I even made reference to the enjoyment I get out of the "give and take" of this particular forum. My point was that too many people jump to conclusions without trying to understand the post they are referring to means. That's all...and your last post validates my opinion about the matter.
Try to stay warm...I've been told it can get pretty chilly up in them northern regions...

Hi Mr. Griffin.
My close local friend, Kyle, did a Raptor-like fender, bedside, and hood conversion. It was made by McQueen Prototype Design down in Southern California. It takes styling cues from the Raptor like the fender flare body line as well as the hood with the louvers. But retains the Ranger grille, headlights, and taillights. It's also a more minimal approach to fiberglass fenders...without going overly wide, overly large, or too cartoony/gawdy. Installation was fairly straight forward and the lines line up almost perfect. Front fenders were almost dead on the first try. Bedsides required a little bit more.
DaRangerDanger's 2003 2wd Edge...
This is the truck I was referring to in another one of your threads about 15x10's and spindle lifted Edge. This is what fiberglass fenders and bedsides look with a 3" spindle lift, 15x10's (-44 offset), and 35x12.50R15 tires. 3.0 5spd manual and 4.56's.

I'll say what I honestly think. Some say its a fault, I say it's not. To many people sugar coat things these days and are pussies.

Shane...
Your friends truck is a helluva looker. I especially like the way the headlights have a "Frenched" or recessed appearance to them. Almost like there is a "brow" over the outside edge. And the red lettering on the tires are a very nice but subtle touch.
Thanks, Partner...I appreciate your post and the revealing look at such a nice ride.
