How hard is it to get this stuff off? Any prep? How's it hold up?

Just a clean surface is really all it needs as far as I know. It isn't too difficult to get off a smooth surface.

depends on how many coats your do, i never did much prep for my wheels or toolbox just sprayed on, the toolbox didnt hold up well with some dirt on it but the wheels looked good until i got a set of tires mounted on them a couple weeks ago, i would touch them up but ive got a nother set that i painted. a word of advice is if you wanna do a toolbox or a large surface, use multiple coats, itll be easier to pull off when you want it to come off

Yes to both. I just washed the rockers with water and it stuck fine.

As far as taking it off it pretty much just peels off.

Looks good, I like the high end OEM wheels.

I will ask the same question here as on the other thread, how does this stuff stand up to everyday wear and tear, i.e. how about washings with a brush, how about brush and small branches on the trail, the usual stuff that happens ?

I don't use a brush or any wheel cleaners. Brake dust a grime come right off with soap and water and a micro fiber wheel sponge . I have been camping, road trip halfway acrossed the.state. it holds up fine and it it chips just spray more on .

I saw an f150 like a year ago that was completely done so he has that guy beat too. Something like 14 cans for the whole truck.

I used a can to try it out on my Colorado... glad I did it as now it changed my plans for the Mazda. I was going to do the roof of the 3 but it doesn't come out smooth enough for my liking.

I think they do make a clear to put on it... not sure if it works well or not as I don't know anyone who's used it!

I know they make a clear plasti dip but I don't think its shiny. I was thinking like spray it on and then put an actual clear coat on it.

That would probably work... may be worth it on something else but certainly not this truck. If you could see the rest of it you'd understand! It'll be just getting a little sandblasting, and then a few cans of primer and gloss white around the wheel wells!

Did it!!

Got the rocker's done the way I was planning to. I did it because of hardcore rock chipping from many many gravel road speed runs and the very common boot bump paint rub. Ran into a snag because I didn't really think the product through. lol. I let the product dry fully after 2 medium thickness coats then I peeled the masking tape off. Oh well. lol. I only did the driver's side...so I'll see how well it holds up to my knees rubbing up against it when leaning into the double lifted truck. I may peel it all off and shoot real paint on it. Black.

Overall, pretty darn neat product this Plasti-Dip stuff is. I'm happy ya'll enlightened me to it. I was planning on stick-on no-skid tape on the rockers before I found out about this product. Cheap way to see if an idea is feasible...and is completely reversible without any residue.

The key to spraying this stuff with accuracy using masking tape.... Spray 1 medium-thick coat, then peel off your tape. If you let it dry, the overlap on the tape will be part of the "membrane", and peel the coating off with the tape. My lower bed in front of the wheelwell shows this. The rest of the tape line was xacto knife'd prior to peeling. The cut-off isn't too perfect, and there are some peeling edges. I'm confident with peeling the tape off while the paint is wet, the line will be crisp and perfect.

The mishap. lol.

Yeah if you peel it off when its wet there won't be any peeling. And when I did mine I just did really thick coats so I didn't have to retape.
