Hey guys I noticed today that my wiper blades completely suck, i was wondering what brands worked well your you guys and what brands to stay away from?

 

i buy the 4$ a blade ones at walmart and replace them every 6 months... thats just me and they work just fine

 

I had better luck with those cheapos at walmart also, and before that I had tried Rain X and Bosch

 

Last time I got the $7 set from Wally-World.... I think they are Aanco.

I've tried the refills too, but they didn't seem to last 6 months.

 

I have used Trico for years. I change them each spring. The MOST important thing to remember with wipers is to NOT use them to clear frost and ice off your windshield. That stuff is like little razor blades on the wipers.

 

Another thing you can do to help yourself is to clean them. When you wash your window, wash the blades too. Just lift them up and clean the rubber edge off. This is especially true this time of year with all the pollen and other plant crap. A wiper that appears to be in need of replacement very often just needs to be cleaned.

I found it very helpful to do this when filling up on gas, instead of just waiting there I grab some paper towels and work the wipers for a few seconds. A disgusting amount of dirt always comes off.

 

If youre really cheap, try taking a fine sandpaper to the wiper blade.

 

I've been running the PIAA Super Silicone Blades for about 3 months now and they still work like they are brand new. So far they have been nothing but great. They came with PIAA's version of Rainx cloth. I cleaned my windshield then wiped it down with the cloth and the water is still beading great. Plus you can get them from a R-F vendor. I'd say check'em out.

im running the dual bladed wipers from autozone. they are 10 bux a pop and come in several colors. the 2 blades really help to clear the rain, just dont use them in the winter. dont ask how i know!

im running these same blades, i think i have had them on for almost 2 yrs now, through winters,(do not use them to clear frost or ice) and still work good, although i think on the passanger side i lost one of the rubber blades but still works good

 

I regularly apply Rain-X so my wipers don't get used as often as some who don't. Like someone mentioned before, wiping them off with a wet cloth when you wash your truck also helps them work more efficiently.
