i think black will go right in with ur flares and such......idk what other people use but my dad got this stuff on ebay and u get enough for 2 coats on a truck bed for 170 bucks....3.5 gallons. u could probably get less to but it holds up well. on our 68 bronco we sandblasted the whole interior and sprayed one coat on it and so far it has held up really well even though we only did one coat. we used the rest on my dads truck and only lightly scuffed the surface on his 06 chevy 2500. it holds up alright on it but if u chip it the area around it peeles up prety easy cause it wasnt preped very well. also on the bronco we painted over some of it in orange and it looks really good and the paint stuck very well. this stuff is not really rubbery but its very hard and very ruff. just thought id mention it.

the stuff he used is called "LINER X-TREEME"

I think any textured paint would look fine

Just remember - Your paying 500 for them to also prep properly - sanding, priming, sanding again, rpiming again, and then codl spraying onto the vehicle - sometimes the service to get it done right is more then worth its weight in gold - roll on stuff will peel down the road.

I agree with Mike -

I haven't had my rockers done yet (my whole truck is getting repainted... so I'll decide what to do after that - different story), but I had my bed sprayed professionally by a local shop, and I'm VERY glad that I did that after seeing some DIY beds.

+2

I had mine professionally sprayed - and a roll on or can wont cut it for rocker panels on the long term - sure it'll look great at first.. but wait for those rocks and water to start doing there thing and you'll wish you had a good rhino or line-x on there..!

UI plan on getting my own done here probably this summer too along with my otehr long list of stuff - and I will 100% bring it into a shop and pay the ~$500 to get it done in a heartbeat

Plus.... I think if you shop around, you could probably have it done for much less than $500.

I was quoted $450 for both bumpers, rocker panels, and to have my bed re-sprayed (damaged the hell out of my liner hauling aircraft jacks at work) at the local Line-X shop. Just FYI.
