Upgrading to Wilson

I'm about to upgrade from my "barjan" dual 4' antennas to a Wilson something.
I've been looking at the 5000 but think the 1000 will work fine. I just want to get 1-5 miles out of it and some residential stuff. itll be a magnet mount for the roof
would the 1000 be good enough for this or would i need a 5000 for about 5 miles?
when i get the magnet mount, is that all i will need? just that and the coax? will the coax come with it?

i had the "lil wil" and i was getting out 3-5 miles with a cheap cobra, but if those are the 2 you are going with i would get the 1000.

What radio do you have? is it tuned?

Im running a cobra 29ltd, maxed out to i think 65 watts

And a lilwill mag mount antenna..

Im getting out probably 25 miles if not more... i could talk to the cb shop from my house, and they are about 30 min away..

I bought the duals before I read anything about antennas.. I'm only running 1 coax with a dummy antenna.
I just have the Cobra 19UltraIII
I don't even know how to tune a radio or if I can tune that one
But I disagree its a waste of space.. It only take up about another inch lol

lol ok...

Well you can tune just about any radio... you have to take it to a cb shop though... they will cut and splice wires, and mess with the mother board...

And they normally will hook you up with a good price on an antenna, and match your coax for you...
