talked to the body shop today, they still haven't started work on my truck... they have had it since monday morning... waiting for a phone call to tell me how much the 2 tone will cost, labour wize...

found out they only use waterbased paint at bodyshops here... interesting eh? poly/oil/solvent is illegal for body shop use in my province, other than clearcoat

primers and clearcoats are still solvent products. only the basecoat has changed and some of the degreasers. All of Canada flipped to that rule just recently. You guys are pretty much in the same style of rules that we have in most of California. The paint works and it will be fine. For what its worth, the DSG that was on my hood was waterborne basecoat. No problems with it other than it didnt avoid a wreck lol.

(paint geek here) what brand of paint to they use?

i'm not too worried about how it will work... not sure what brand they use though...

i think the new laws for both enviro and worker's comp up here, say your solvent cleaners (tanks/washer stations) are supposed to have a baking soda/water solution, and i think varsol is actually illegal up here now...
