havent aimed the lights yet. probably do it tomorrow. i was wondering if anyone else that has these ebay lights have the same low beam cutoff? is there anyway to fix it? make it more of a solid cutoff line?

thanx

does it look about the same? have you upgraded the bulbs? i was thinking about doing the high beams. just dont want to put too much load on the wiring

i think i found out why those projectors have such a wierd cutoff.

the shield/guard thing isnt a straight line. i wish i would have taken off the projector and measured the size. maybe find a good replacement.

i eyeballed the aiming tonight so hopefully im not blinding people too bad. the wierd cutoff is kinda screwy looking while driving. high beams look great. still might try to upgrade the high beam bulb though.

i have one more day off before going back to work so i MIGHT take one of the housings off and take of the projector off and measure it. anyone do this already? i want to find a projector that i can use HID balbs in. and that has a more straight cutoff

well my curiousity got the best of me again. i took one of the housings off to try and find out why the projectors have such a wierd cutoff. but before i did that i checked the projectors on my rx7. hella 90mm has the same type of cutoff shield thing. but instead of a step, it has more of a slope. soooo on to the pics........

back of housing. notice anything wierd yet

how about now?

are all projector housings oval?

found why they have that stepped cutoff

i disabled the parking lights(cut wire). in england the parking light up front has to be a clear light. not amber like in the states.

does anybody know why there is a slope(hella)/step(ebay) in the cutoff? does it need to be there?

yeah im sure. i dont know how much those rings draw, so i wouldnt be able to point you in the right direction as far as wiring. but im sure you would want a fuse, relay, and switch somewhere in the install

thanx...it was eating away at me and i just had to find out what the hell was up with it...i blame that on the military and my job...i hoping the only reason that warning label is on there is because of the wiring....so im gonna redo everything the right way....if it melts the housings you guys will be the first to know and with pics lol

step-ups are very common in lots of setups. although there is only supposed to be one step, not multiple.

on the drive home tonight i noticed alot of extra reflected light from the sides..i THINK its from the fake chrome in the housings catching some light from the projectors and reflecting it where ever it feels like...you can actually see what im talking about in all the pics..just the low beams are on but it looks like the highs are too...ill post pics of the output pattern tomorrow

i redid the wiring for the headlights and also made the low beams stay on even with high beams on...i hear having the hids flash on and off (going from low to high and back again) is really bad so thats why i did that
