I called it on the license plate. i'm pretty sure i knew what those tape lines were for too, like lines to grind too. used to do it all the time to rebuild body lines.
can't wait to see the finished product!

I almost did this. I was looking at the kits, and I have a welder and the tools needed.

Instead of re-painting, I wanted to bed-line around the plate where I welded the kit in.

Final product.

Turned out a lot better than I thought. ME LIKEY!!!

The LED lights arent crazy bright, but the sun was only going down when I hooked them up.

Looks a lot cleaner and tighter fitting in person for some reason.

Yeah, I laughed at the sandal as well.

i like it! im not so sure about the bedliner, but hey, its different. I first hooked mine up in a shed in late afternoon on a cloudy day and i didnt think it was bright either. but after its dark out then look out! How did you fasten it that low on the tailgate? sheet metal screws?

Well, I figured I was going to ruin the paint anyways with the screws, and I still have a LOT of bedliner.....so why not? lol.

I used self tapping metal screws and some washers.

And I am about to go and tape up the splices, so I will see how bright it is in the dark.

Dupli-color's Bed armor kit. Roll on. Its probably a little more rough than line-x or a spray on, but I like it.

I got it on sale at autozone for $80

Its enough to do a 6ft bed. Ive done my rear rocker panels, and this on my tailgate, and I still have about 4/5 of the can left. This stuff also has no pot life, so as long as you seal it back up when you are done, you can use it again whenever.

damn not bad. I'm going to do the bottom half of the body line on my truck whenever its hot out. I have a LOT of sanding to do. Looks good to me! The light looks a bit big though. Can't you run up one of the plate lights and mount it through there?
