Well as the title says, will 98-2000 Tails fit in a 2002 XLT?

They'll fit just fine, but you'll have to wire for a three bulb setup. I have a set of 98 tails if you need them.

This is the only thread I could find, but you might be able to find a better one.

You don't have to convert to a 3 bulb set up, I just covered up the extra holes on my tails.

um, if your getting after market tails, you can just spice into the turn signal/brake light wire and run it to the other bulb, thats the way my friend did on his 03 and it was kinda nice.

I put a set of those 00-under APC carbon fiber tails on my little brothers '01 truck. It has holes for the seperate brake and signals. I just wired in an extra pigtail.....both holes are running lights, and just the top is a brake/siganl.
