Given Rust!
Well this week im going to be getting my grandparents old 2000 ranger. I looked today and saw that both front and rear bumpers, the running bars and he undercarriage have moderate rust. The rust is almost through on the rear bumper but i can always get a new bumper. Is their anyway to save the front and running bars, and anyway to help slow or get rid of all the rust on the bottom?
Its so bad because we have bad winters in PA and my grandparents are to old to clean the whole truck so im sure it was the salt that corroded it so bad.

I just started noticing rust on my tube steps. I took them off, took them apart, sanded all the metal down until it was shiny again. Then hit it with 2 thick coats of rust inhibiting primer, then 2 coats of black Rust-Oleum spray paint. Reassembled the steps, painted the assembly with 2 coats of spray paint, and then put them back on the truck. A lot of work but they look great and are holding up against stones really well.
We have rough winters in NY too, its a never ending battle to beat rust.
