I have been looking at other truck sites with rangers and not one ranger has the ford motorsport decal on there truck? And very few have the off-road decal on the back next to the taillights. I have both so i was just woundering if it is something i should be glad i have or is it something people take off there trucks?

 

I have never seen a ford motorsports decal on any ford vehicle.

I know my 4x4 had the 4x4 sticker on the sides next to the tailights. All Ranger 4x4's should have the sticker there.

 

as another 2004 owner I can tell you those items are not stock from the factory

Quite interesting to see fellow 04 owners saying those stickers are not stock from ford. This makes me wounder if my truck was a demo truck? Here is my pic of my stock ranger incase you new guy might have missed it. Notice the ford motorsport sticker on the driver door and the 4x4 off road on the back toward the taillights.

did you buy the truck NEW off the dealer lot?

the wheels and trim package make it appear to be an FX4 Off Road
when you said 4x4 stickers on the back next to the taillights I thought you meant on the tailgate
- those side stickers are stock and common, the door sticker is not

?? hard to tell from your photo - is your truck a 4 door??
if not it is not an FX4 Off Road but instead likely an XLT with the Value Appearance Package
what flooring is in it

why not make a signature and give some details on your truck??

 

Ecept his Truck has 4x4 Off Road Stickers on the side and it is an 04. In 04 THe ORP was a FX4. My Guess is it came with the 4x4 sticker on the tailgate and someone added the 4x4 Off road stickers.

the offroad sticker is part of the 4x4 sticker. my 2000 is a Offroad Package truck and came with those offroad decals.

 

I know that but in 2003 the ORP was replaced with the FX4 package. No Ranger newer than 2002 came with a "4x4 Off road sticker" from the factory. If it didn't have the FX4 package it had a single 4x4 sticker on the tailgate.

My 01 Ranger had a 4x4 Off road package sticker on it.

If it is an off road package in 2004 model year ranger it should say FX4, not 4x4 off road.

 

YES its a huge company with TONS of aftermarket parts, to be honest you can buy those stickers from ford motor sports and someone probably just put it on for the heak of it... and yes i can tell you that the 4x4 sticker on back is 100% stock for a 4x4 ranger thats not an FX4. i seen tons of them all day long working at ford and driving around here....

 

Sweet and yes i bought it from a ford dealer with 6k on it.

 

Mine is the 2 door xlt extended cab ranger.

 

Yea its an XLT sticker( the 4X4 sticker) that one is stock but the ford racing is just soemthing someone put on it before you...

Yep sound about right. Except i have my cd player installed.

 

Some dealers will add items to a vehicle,usually accessories from Ford,or Ford Motor Sport,and some items are from local aftermarket sources,theres even a company(Promotional Trim) that does the vehicle before it reaches the dealer.

 

actually lilblue, your wrong, I have the value pkg, you dont get the side emblems on the value pkg. the dealer must have added those. I dont think the struck is special, i think the DRIVER is 'special'

You may have something special...... maybe.... look in your door trim and see if you see any SVO stickers or anything about calibration....
I know I saw a 2001ish ranger in a junk yard that had an after factory (before put on the lot) Special Vehicle Operations package...
it wsa a 4.0 with special calibrations (ie EEC calibrations). But there were no sticker on the outside, just under the hood and in the door jam.
