Using red candy paint to red out tails...

has anyone ever done this for a 99 and below with the tri color tail lights?....

is there an exact match for the red or should i jsut tape over the reverse lights and color the whole light, or will this dim my brakes to much...

Ok, first of all... is it legal where you are... I don't think it is in FL...

Next, you can use translucent vinyl, it would be a lot easier to do and probably just a weee bit more costly. If you know how to use an airbrush right then you probably won't have runs in the paint.

if they are candied, they would be euros any more. It would be legal in FL becuase it only has to reflect red from the back and sides.

you arent required to have amber rear turn signals.

the candy paint from a hobby shop works perfect I've seen it done many times on chevy's on a different forum.

I suggested Euros to start with that way if you mess them up or dont like the final project you havent lost your stockers

Those are euro's in the picture... which looks badass!!!

I think I might skip the 06 tails and get some of them... I don't live too far from HOK to go pick some up next time I'm in Biloxi.

Wonder how much it costs? Lemme see...........

if i were doing stock taillights, i would spray the entire lense, that way the top matches the bottom as much as possible

This one's better... They are a dealer. Oh, and, Iwe've only got one decent hobby shop around here and they don't carry any of the candy-type paints...

the amber is on the very top above the red on mine so i might fade it down into the red then cover the whole thing with clear...

why not just buy some 2000 tails if you like the 98-99 style just without the amber? it's the same light, just with two sockets and no amber

You better do this wuick before you talk yourself out of it...lol... personally, I like to have reverse lights too cause i do some offroading at night and that's why installed the rock lights, also.

I definitely like the ones on the black truck.

I could use these and make a stylish clear cutout around the reverse bulb or make that bottom one the reverse light. Oh, or I could do them "headlight mod" style!! I could do the headlights and taillight s at the same time.
