Dana 44 with 39.5 super swampers??

I'm going to check out this 1984 f150 with 39.5" super swampers. In the pictures it looks to have the stock dana 44 TTB set up. I've already seen the truck, drove past it at night. The tires are as described but I didn't get out and look under neath.
Well, according to the TRS axle guide 35 is the max size. He's been driving it for a while I assume since he's got wear on the tires.
Just what should I look for when I go to check it out. What suprises could I be in store for down the road.
Yeah a dana 60 swap would be sweet, but i'm stupid and idk what i'm doing as far as gearing and crap.

There is no way in hell I would touch it without having future plans for a 60 swap.
