Drove an 08 F150 today, whoa

So after hauling some gravel, I gave the ranger a rest and helped one of my friends move in her new house.

Her dad let her use his 08 F150 I guess Lariat, It's the highest trim package, but its a 2x4

She let me drive it around, whoa, what a difference. It rides very smooth (not as smooth as I expected). The accelerates really well (that took getting used to)

Built in satellite radio, wood grain, leather seats, carept, it was like being in a cadillac.

Prolly shouldn't have drove it, now I want one

The truck is a piece of wood? Whoa! That's pretty cool! I understand you wanting one. My dad has an '06 4x4 Lariat and I want one every time I drive it.

I really don't need another truck right now. The Ranger is paid off, my 77 F150 is a great truck, and I'm just now finishing my 77 F250.

Maybe after college when I have a steady, good paying job, I'll consider it.

I'm planning on getting at least one 73-79 truck (hopefully crew cab)

I'm sticking with my Ranger. It's a lot cheaper to run, repair, maintain and modify and stil suits all my needs.

Good point, for what I use it for, the Ranger is perfect.

Anytime I need more, I've got two other trucks, plus access to my dad's 99 F250 7.3

Eh. My Ranger rides better now than it did with the IFS. The frontend on my F350 also rides better than the Ranger did with IFS.

My F150 rides way better than my 250 or my dad's superduty. The leaf springs make for a little rougher ride.

My 77 F250 has the heavy duty springs. I don't know if my dad's superduty does. I would think so.

I don't think the frame is actually any different.
But you do have a stronger leaf spring, 10.25 rear axle and bastardized 7 lugs.

I agree, the tuning and 6 speed tranny make them a lot nicer to drive. I love the newer interiors too

I still haven't driven an 09+ because I'm afraid I will "need" one. But I have heard a lot of complaints about constant shifting which I don't like. Won't know until I drive one I guess.
