getting exhaust for the f150
getting exhaust for the f150
i couldnt remember if i posted this up before or not. i searched through my subscriptions and couldnt find that i did. so here goes.
im tired of the exhaust that the guy put on before i got it. it sounds ok at low rpms but in the higher range when i excellerate or put my foot in it it sounds like garbage. idk if i can afford the stainless kits, but it all depends on how much a local shops want for their install. if its close or about the same ill just get the get or just get dual turndowns now and add pipe when i can afford it. ik i like the sound of the mbrp and the roush offroad. i like the sound of this guy named darren on youtube with his magnaflows, but its true dual and thats the only vid i can find of magnaflows on a 5.4 that sound good. does anyone know what any of the loud flowmasters sound like like the super40 and super44? or are there any other suggestions to exhaust? thanks and i apologize if ive posted this before i just couldnt find it if i did. links to vids would be great too

I have a magnaflow single into dual rear passanger side (behind the tire) exit, sounds great to me, previous owner put it on.
I agree, I will never buy another flowmaster.
Here is the Magnaflow video. Keep in mind this was taken the same day the guy installed it, it will get a little louder. Also different sized magnaflows will be louder. Personally I wouldn't want it much louder, it would be obnoxious like most everyone's truck around here. lol

lol, yea bryan. ik what you mean. thats part of livin in ky with all the damn rednecks and their strait pipes or flowmasters. lol. are yall talkin bout the borla and magnaflow kit or just goin to a shop? if the kit can you get just the mufflers? ik you can on the magna but wb the borla?
ok. im sure i could just ask the shop. i think theyd know for sure. if not, then that means id make my way somewhere else bc i dont want someone that works at a muffler shop and dont know anything about the mufflers to work on my ****. lol
Too bad your not closer, I'd sell you mine for under that. I want to switch to a single out setup for some reason lol.
Cheapest route would just buy the muffler from Magnaflow Performance | Discount Performance Auto Parts | Performance Exhaust Systems | Flowmaster Performance Mufflers and just get it welded in place.

Magnaflows are always great too. I personally love Magnaflow in every aspect but I love the looks of the banks kit, I like the sound as well. I prefer SI/SO systems though.

this is what i want: YouTube - 06 f150 custom dual flowmasters "take off"

Sounds like all the other trucks here. haha. I can't stand that sound but whatever floats your boat!
lol. i like anything thats loud and throaty and has a good idle rumble. i really like the mbrp and borla kits but damn are they expensive. if only trent was closer id buy his kit from him. quick swap in a parking lot wouldnt be too bad lol
idk what it is. asked the guy at the muffler shop and he said it looked like one and if it was it was a quieter one. its not loud at all, i mean its louder than stock of course but its nothing like yours or zachs
i really like this. dont know if it would sound the same on mine though: YouTube - 2009 F150 Borla Pro XS exhaust...after

so im lookin into the kits and the only one i can really afford that i like is the mbrp. i found some custom exhaust ones that i like but are true duals. can you make a single muffler sound similar or what? and i really like the sound of the mbrp but would rather not spend 400 on an exhaust. if they sell just the muffler would it sound the same as the kit?
