what's the best way to clean them out? if anything...

like i mean these bad boys are NASTY

The question is, what kind of rims do you have? My wheels are after market aluminum wheels, and they cleaned up great. They were pretty nasty, so started off with 000 steel wool and Simple Green, then went over them with 0000 steel wool and Meguires mag wheel polish, followed by a Mother's Powerball with more of the Meguires mag wheel polish. The whole process probably took about 3-4 hours, but the difference is amazing.

 

im pretty sure they're aluminum... from what i remember the guy saying( the guy who i bought it from ) he said they were stock.

yep those r factory wheels, get sum paint stripper to remove what i left of the clear coat then wetsand um then steel wool them then polish the crap out of them with a powerball and power cone for the lil tight spots

take your wheels off first and dont get the paint stripper on the paint of tires

after you strip the clearcoat off

try some clr ( calcium/lime /rust ) remover

works great on oxidized aluminum

just give it time to work

 

yeah im gettin the clear coat off with some fine steel wool.

i forgot about CLR i have some layin around somewhere

Wet sand them too after the Steel wool..use lots of water and fine grit(over 1000) paper,helps even out the finnish.

 

haa do they look like that crap too?

 

id say get new wheels or go to a junkyard and get some...they look too far gone IMO

 

well not as bad at all, I will take some close ups soon. But its defs oxidating thats for sure
