school me on clay-barring and waxing...
Follow the instructions on the box/bottle. It tells you everything you need to do, pretty simple. I'll do a simple one:
1. Wash truck
2. Dry truck
3. Work at a section at a time, spray on some quick detailer and then run the claybar over the area a few times until you don't feel it grab anymore.
4. Buff off the QD with a quality microfiber
5. Once you finish the entire truck apply the wax
6. Squeeze some on a applicator and work it in the paint, then move on too the next panel.
7. Wait for it to haze up and then buff it off
8. Step back and enjoy your hard work

Oh one big tip if you drop the clay just go ahead and throw it away, its useless now. Also if you drop the microfiber get a clean one, the MF picks up all kinds of dirt and leaves and you'll just swirl up your paint if you use a dirty one.

So what you're saying is is that you're a butter fingers?
No. Washing it will take off the dirt and waterspots will come out with just buffing with QD, so they will be removed when you clay bar. Now water etching will require a polisher or a buffer.
your paint feels as if you were doing a chick without a rubber after you clay it its honestly up there with sex! ![Rock[1]](https://www.ranger-forums.com/rf/forum2/images/smilies/rock[1].gif)
lol i apologize if that comment was uncalled for but for those who have clayed their truck know what i'm talking about

The way I do it, Is wash the truck once, then wash again but use the clay bar and use the wash as the lube. Once all done, dry truck. And waxing....has been covered already.
Clay bar in a crosshatch pattern, in circles, I do it all. Keep doing it til its allll smooooth.
I'm still a noob when it comes to exterior detail.... How long should I use the same clay bar?

I throw mine away after each use, but I'm like Zach, a butterfinger, so there's not much left when I'm done.
Lets see um!
I just picked up a new clay kit today. I'm moving to LA and wanna get all this **** done before I go. So Saturday I'm going crazy.
Washing with dish soap, Meg's Swirl-X, Megs Clay, 2 coats of Pinnacle, 2 coats of Gold Class. Gonna be one shinny bastard!
