I run Air-Raid. I like it, it came with a throttle body spacer and I've gotten a couple mpg's better.

With a 91 I think thats just a top filter am i right?

Right. Was your butt dyno in working order? I posted a video of a dyno test. Stock vs. K&N CAI on a 4.0 in the 4.0 section. Not a single person commented on it but 100+ people looked at it. He actually lost horsepower when he put the K&N on...

I have a 3.0 in mine. Most thing I noticed was a 1 mpg increase on average. And that it is loud as hell when I'm into it. Seemed to get more second gear rubber, and pulled hard for a longer stretch in rpm. Stock it pulled hard from 3000 to 4000. Now it pulls from 3k to 5k. Faster? Probably not. But it "feels" faster on the street with the smoother and longer power band.

How much are the K&N's? $200+ aren't they? That's a lot of money to increase mileage 1mpg...Definately not worth anything.

Not that much. Like $120 something. Got mine of craigslist. In box never opened $15 bucks. lol.

I was just going to get a drop in so at least I have a lift time warranty filter but this was cheaper.

My K&N when I bought it a little over 2 years ago was $260 at Summit, Never felt like I got my moneys worth, no noticeable gains at all, except for a little whistle noise when at WOT. I would get the AEM intake if anything much easier to clean.

the best setup for our trucks would be an AEM cone/tube in a Volant enclosure. AEM has the best filter but its not enclosed, Volant has the best enclosure but their filters are oiled

Did I say it was the only factor and way water will mess up an engine? No. Will it increase the risk of water being sucked in, yes. You don't have to have the truck underwater to have it intake on water. Just a big puddle at the right speed will do it.
