Who's got a 4.6L or 5.4L in a Ranger?

Who all out there has successfully swapped in a modular 4.6L or 5.4L into a ranger?

I -really- want to put a 4.6 DOHC into my truck - those engines are bad ***, damn torquey!

Well worth the 7 grand - full ford racing aluminum block on there... Im sure size wise it could be fit into the engine bay with a little work!

Hah, is that the 11 grand one? or is it one of the 17-18 grand ones? It has the screw on there doesnt it? ugh.. wish I had one of those.. and a manual tranny built to back it up and put power to all 4 wheels ugh.. that would take lots of money.. lots and lots =)

the 4.6 should be fairly easy, they come factory in the sport tracs so should fit into a ranger no problem

Not even close. V8 Sport Tracs are not even close in the engine bay.

Take a gander at the list above you first.

Yea...mod motors are WIDE, and require some addition fitting. Sure it can be done, just have to have the mad skills to do it haha.

And the motor Zach posted is the 5.4 out of the GT500...

Yes, it's easy. You stack hundred dollar bills on top until the sucker slides right in. This one here is mine and has only been running for a couple of weeks. I'll post a build when and if I get it back form a Calif road trip.

Here is a link to a few pics. I'm not very good at adding photos yet. This is a 95 with a ford Racing aluminator long block and T-56. I had all the extras for the engine. The rear is the stock 8.8 housing with 4.10 ford gears and an Auburn ECTEC electronic locker and 31 spline Moser axles.
My photos are on Image Shack. I think this one will get you to my images. [IMG][/IMG] I've got a bit more done but don't have any photos yet.
