I finally got around to installing my Knight Rider LED bar under the grille tonight.

Took a while to figure out how to mount the bar, but I settled on drilling holes underneath & using some small black cable ties to hold the bar in place.

Before installing it, I masked off the LED's & painted the housing/plastic covering with Krylon Fusion black to hide all the white plastic it was made of.

It's almost invisible...until I turn it on.

The LED's reflect off the bumper which adds a little extra flash.

That's what I would like to replace the older style one I have on my truck. Very sweet

It has a wireless remote that controls on/off, mode & speed. I haven't adjusted the speed yet, seems like it works pretty well as is.
I have the power connected to a hidden mini toggle switch in my console in case I hit a button on the remote... don't want it to come on at the wrong times.

I've wanted one since I first saw Knight Rider on TV as a kid.

 

That would make a great LED turn signal

I had a small blue one of those in the air damn of a 97 Mitsubishi Eclipse. Somebody actually pulled over to let me pass once. I couldn't figure it out until I realized that the blue light was on.

 

I had one of those on my '85 ranger... back in 1988.
I got a ticket (illegal flashing lights in the front, also red lights in the front)
cop said if i removed them in front of him, he wouldn't also add "Impersonating a police car" so I yanked them out.

 

That is sweet!!!

That's another reason I installed a hidden mini toggle switch in the console... to make sure it doesn't come on at an inopportune time.

search for Knight Rider LED, I've seen 'em in red, blue, white & green

it comes complete with wireless remote, LED bar & control box, all you need is a fuse holder, a switch, cable ties & patience

These guys are pretty expensive but worth taking a look at.

 

I think this one looks the most like the original... Having some sort of lenses in front makes it look that way I'd guess..

When I saw the vid, I thought of the old Knight Rider show theme song. HAHA!

 

Yeah this is actually the original style they used in the show. I like the patterns that Buggman's bar has.
