I'm also wondering about reception... I had a 9" one on my Mustang and it wasn't too great.
What does he say to use to tighten it on? The one I had just had a chunk of hose to slide over and use some pliers or channel locks to tighten on.

well honestly i have no idea for reception, but i will test it out today.. i couldnt tell you the last time i actually listened to the radio.. as for tightening it i just put a drop of loctite on it and tightened it by hand.
welp went on a lil road trip today and tried the ol fm tuner.. in delaware i really didnt pick up much other then country, so i honestly couldnt stand to listen to see how it was. However after i got into PA i picked up most of the normal channels and they stayed tuned in pretty well.. so i dont think its that bad, that being said i went back to my ipod interface on the way home.
The look is there but being an Amateur Radio Operator I don’t think the reception will be at the level of quality I would want.
The BLK OEM Units are nice, look good and are designed to work the way they should in the frequency range of the HD/AM/FM Broadcasts, works for me.
