Picking a new headunit

So I'll be getting a new headunit in the next couple weeks

I really like the higher end Kenwoods.

I was almost 100% sure on this one

Kenwood KIV-700 Digital media receiver at Crutchfield.com

But with money a little tight I've looked at these

Kenwood Excelon KDC-X994 CD receiver at Crutchfield Signature

Kenwood KDC-BT945U CD receiver at Crutchfield.com

They have varying features, like bluetooth, but I want to know what you guys think.

The KIV-700 is really nice because it plays video, but you have to get an adapter for bluetooth

Let me know what you guys think. You can see I don't want to go too much over $300. BTW CD playback is not important, I use the Ipod

I think either the first or second one would be badass for a single din

I got the KDC-X794 the other day (same one as the 994 just without bluetooth) and its awesome!

So many features and it looks great, display is super nice and easy to read. I'm 100% happy and I'm a pretty picky person honestly.

How do you like the Ipod interface? Easy to use and read? Can you change the color of the keys?

That's why I looked at the KIV-700, it had such a great display

Alright the 794 is white buttons and the 994 is changeable.

So the $80 is for Bluetooth and button color changing

Is the Bluetooth worth it?

iPod interface is perfect. Works excellent with my iPhone and its so easy to scroll through the music on the unit itself.

I've heard iffy reviews about the bluetooth on the 994, I would read some reviews on it first. The buttons light up white so it matches my interior fine. I can't complain about it

Do you use the remote? I think it would be handy just to switch through songs with the remote if you had shuffle on

Yeah I use the remote more than the actual headunit now. The one thing I haven't figured out is how to activate the search via the remote yet, I'm not sure if you can or not. So I have to press search on the headunit and then use the remote. Not a big deal though

I think you've convinced me to get this unit. It will save $100 and still have all the features I want.

Thanks, after I get it installed I'll post up a review

If you want I can do a quick video on it tomorrow so you can see how it actually functions before you buy it.

Check this and see if it shows everything:

I checked that vid out, he didn't go through all the features like I was hoping also not enough about the remote.

Yeah I watched it too. I'll try to get one up tomorrow, don't know if the internet at my girlfriends school will be enough to get it up to youtube though.
