tube doors - can i get some help?
i want to fab up some tube doors, i want a full frame, with support about half way up it to keep my legs in...here's the problem...
i dont have a welder at the moment but i was wondering if i could get someone to make them, and ill pay cash, or if someone could bring their welder and torch to me and help me that way...if anyone could give me some ideas and maybe a price estimate that would be great

Why not just cut a pair of stock doors? If you do decide to go through with this, just a suggestion for you. Add a 6" lip or panel at the bottom of the door. Keeps stuff (i.e. coke cans, feet, etc) in the truck and keeps the police off your back.

Using the stock doors and welding in some flat stock over the openings looks good if done right. I've seen this done multiple times on older Chevy's (73-87) trucks and K5's. Plus, you can retain the factory door latching mechanism.

^----That is exactly what I was talking about! That would clean up real nice with some paint. I'd probably put a tube across the door at optimal arm rest level, for that reason and to keep me from falling out, but that's just me.

In order to something like this, you just have to have a handful of plate, an angle grinder, and a welder.
Basically, you just need to etch out where you want your lines to be, and cut it on both sides and then go.
Mock up the plate to make the new top, and weld it in place.
In my opinion, it doesn't look horrible in your drawing, but when it get it on the a Ranger it isn't going to look right. The tube isn't going to follow the body lines at all, and it'll just seem out of place.
If you really want some type of half-door, I'd go the path of chopping up a good one.
