Contest 18 help.... (40 pictures)

as you all should know, photo contest 18 is FLEX... so long story short, i decided to go all out on this photo contest... i took over 100 pictures, 4 rolls of film (one of which was 36 exp) so now i'm screwed because i've got all these sweet looking pics, and not sure which one i like best, and which to use for the contest... so i weeded most out, i'm down to 36 from today, and a few from before, which i think are really well done photos... i should add there was MAJOR wind, this was done with a nikon fe2 (film SLR from early 80's so everything is manual) and it was COLD it was actually snowing while i was taking these pics... and i had no tripod... i'm getting a tripod tomorrow (it's being brought in for me for this contest, and will be here tomorrow... i've also got a few pics from before, which i think are good contenders... so this is what i've got... gonna keep this poll up for 3 days, and will post the winning one as my submission to the contest

just a few fun tidbits... pics 3, 4, 35 and 36, when i drove down that hill, the front right tire got over the lip and the right rear came off the ground, thought it was going to roll

pictures 11, 12, 13, the right rear tire is off the ground by about 6 inches

pictures 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10, the front skid plate actually caved the culvert in... i couldn't figure out what the metal on metal scraping noise was untill i got out... thought i sat higher than that :D

Just a tip, if your going over, turn INTO the roll and punch the gas.. Had you started going over on that hill in 36 you probably could have saved it. Just for future reference.

i was turning into it when i felt the back tire lift, and i was thinking OH GOD! and just let off the brake for a second and it came back down...

thank god i didn't roll it... explain that to my insurance company... i haven't even had it back from the body shop a month yet...

i will remember that for the future though, thanks Matt

lmao, you are having the issue i had... there are some pics i wanted to post, but just weren't quite good enough to be winning contest photos... i'll post a link to all 110 pictures i took today, eventually, when i go through them, delete my license plate from all of them, and up load them, then copy the codes to a thread... it's a lot of work, i may never get to it...

nah they aren't neons, they are my LED door lock indicators, they would show red if they were locked...

40.1 is your favourite though?

i was looking at the nikon d5000 last night... but i don't want to spend the money, when i have a camera that works perfectly as it is... they are nice, but i already have everything with the nikon...

The neat thing is if you ever do want to upgrade to digital, all that stuff will work on the new Nikons. I'm using a 30 year old lens on my D60 all the time.

You have to turn it to manual mode. On the D5000 theres no internal focus motor so you have to manually focus it.

I haven't had time to look at all the pictures yet to decide on my favorite one lol

they aren't super bright... they look brighter than they are... these shots were long exposure, some i thin were like 30-45 seconds... it was pitch black up there... the bright white lights in the background are about a mile away, those are construction lights, and it's the cast off from them, and the city lights, about half a mile in the other direction that let the camera expose... it was so dark, that i couldn't find my 4dcell maglight after i put it down... took me about 5 minutes in searching... you can see them, but when you are driving, they are around your shoulder, so you don't see the actual bulb, not much more distracting than a bright LCD display on an aftermarket HU

Damn i cant make up my mind you have too many choices... But it looks good

Gave me an idea i should have taken a pic of my unintentional flex a few months ago when i was backing out of the driveway and cut the wheel too soon and my right front wheel dropped into the ditch and lifted my left rear wheel off the ground a good few inches...
