Ranger Replacement Updates(/whoring)!! STi

Haven't been around at all so I figured I would try to keep a little update thread going on the new ride that replaced the FX4. More or less as an excuse to hang around every now and then. lol.
Camera is a little on the not working side so I will have to stick with some cell phone pics for now.

Things done so far,
17x8 OZ Alleggerita wheels w/ dunlop direzza z1 star spec's
whiteline sway bars and adjustable endlink's
whiteline roll center kit
Tinted tail lights
Painted one remaining sti emblem on trunk lid black
Painted grill black
Painted radio surround with plasti dip spray (rubbery oem look)
Kenwood iphone compatable deck (cheap and works great for now)

on the way:
BC Coilovers ordered and should be here this week.
Buying a Used Greddy Catless downpipe and catback for a good price when the guy gets back in town this week along with a walbro 255 fuel pump
Have an access port (programmer) waiting for me in Calgary that my friend picked up for me used down there so I can run a stage 2! 345 hp and 385 ft/lbs minus 20% loss through the awd drievtrain. But still almost 280 to the wheels!

End whoring,, for now. lol
I will put up some updates when I get some more work done and my camera working (or new camera too, lol)

Next to a guy who pulled up talking to me at the park a few days ago. I wasn't sure about the dark theme I am going with until I saw it next to his and mine definitely looks a little meaner! lol His is stock besides tinted tailight and headlight film and lowered on coilovers.

Love it! Those wheels look great on there

Does the radio let you run Pandora through the iPhone? What model is it?

Nice man. The tail lights suck but the rest is good. I just spent $3k on my truck so all my Subaru is getting is new springs.

lol, im not offended by the tail lighs guys, I did them at work on a friday with one of the painters, and he was clearing them. I messed one up at the last minute when i wet sanded the nightshade i burned through in one spot and had to give them another coat at the last minute in order to get them cleared and back on before the weekend, I only wanted to smoke them a little darker as they were the brightest thing on the car. I have already got a warning by a cop last weekend going through a checkstop "but we are here to find drunk drivers, not to give out tickets for these things!" and let me off lol. I am going to sand it all off soon and do it over.
I cant wait to get it lowered, they sit soo damn high stock, I have been waiting on my coilovers for a month because they had to come right form the manufacturer in Taiwan or some crap :(

And I do miss the truck every now and then, lol. Like when I went to get my new tires mounted on my new wheels and had put plastic on the rear seats and cram them all in there and the trunk! My rear seats dont even fold down, I guess it weighed too much! haha I will pick up another truck in a year or two when I can justify/afford to keep to vehicles on the road but for now I would rather just spend my money on this.

Here is a link to the deck I bought. http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/...4f2c7f3049en02

I destroyed my monster fm transmitter when I plugged it into a crappy outlet that was wired wrong when I was down south and went to go but a new one. Then I saw these for $150 when the fm transmitter I had was almost $120 so how could I go wrong.
I am super happy with it! Especially for how cheap it was. Im not sure what pandora is but I use trapster, and it will turn down my music and warn me of upcoming speed/redlight cameras and photo radar traps and whatnot. I can select if I want to control the music from the deck of the Ipod as well. Best $150 bucks I ever spent!

Awesome, thats the same thing I was asking.

I was just going to get a adapter for my stock stereo but heck for the same price I might as well just deal with the single din and get the sub outputs.

Thanks for spending more of my money! haha

Lol no problem!! I am running out of my own money to spend so I gotta spend someones! lol
I am going to get a nice full screen double din down the road but there are much better ways to spend money on audio for now like amp and good speakers.

Finally have a decent picture of the car now that the front end is back together after needing the spoiler/lips repainted.
Also picked up a Cobb Access Port and running Stage 1, big improvement over the stock map. Can't wait to get a turbo back exhaust and go to a stage 2 map. Still looking into exhausts and trying to decide what I want, I am leaning towards a quieter cat-back so I can get away with running a catless downpipe and keep it fairly quiet and draw less unwanted attention.

I know the borla catback for the LGT is pretty quiet. Still a nice sound but not nearly as loud as magnaflow.

We're getting rid of our Subaru. It's fun to drive but it's plagued with all sorts of squeaks and rattles, failed clearcoat on the wheels, electrical problems in the dash, etc etc. The quality is **** poor, and it's not something I want to have long term. There are issues that they can't deal with under warranty (ie cannot duplicate). lol

if you dont want attention, lose the spolier, get the smaller wrx one, or a trunk from an imprezza without a spolier... i think they look better without the huge rally wing

I'm not doing anything major yet, just the typical turbo back and a cobb stage 2 for now, next will be a front mount and turbo upgrade. I want to keep it reliable as long as its a daily driver,, I am after reading allot that the stock block is more reliable as long as your aren't pushing big hp numbers where a stronger motor is needed. That seems to be the dominant train of thought on all the forums anyways.
Question for you as well as I know you know engines well. Few weeks ago I threw a misfire code on 1 and 3 (The day before I was messing around a little in a wet parking lot) on my way to work a few minutes from the house on a wet morning at low rpm. Week later threw it in the same situation (coincidence?) so i went ahead and put seafoam in the oil and in a vaccum line and lucas fuel injector cleaner in gas. Ran that through and changed plugs, switched around coil packs, and did a oil change. Threw it once since then in 2 weeks when started and left idling for a few minutes. And this weekend I had a starting issue and realized a terminal was loose on the battery.. It may have come loose doing slides that day and have been causing the misfire issue possibly due to bad contact and poor/no spark occasionally?
Any thoughts input would help. Haven't thrown it in a week and since I fixed the battery terminal but if it comes back I am running out of ideas.

I am going to get rid of the wing all together I think, just weld up the holes in the lid and repaint it. I will need different springs for the lid though because they put stronger springs in winged lids that nearly blow regular lids off supposedly.

The coilovers are adjustable so in winter I will raise it back up, throw the bbs/ blizzak wheel set back on and back to rally mode!

Few more things done,, coilovers finally showed up, installed them and car dropped a bit, about 1.5 inches, i forgot to measure it stock. And few other odds and ends done like hood lifts, matching dead pedal, k&n air filter, grounding kit (home made), wing stiffi to keep it from bobbling at speed, heat shield for turbo/intercooler. Fixed my not working intercooler sprayer. Exhaust and moving the battery to the trunk will probably be the next undertakings. Car is running really good, getting an alignment monday now that I got my height figured out as it was too low at first and was rubbing/grinding all over the place...

One of my favorite four door sedans of all time. Those boxers sound so unique, you can tell its coming from a mile away
