Ford'sFORD - T-Bar Crank to Dixon Bros 4x4 LT

Well, after all the mind boggling decision making, gathering of funds, and much anticipated waiting, the project is about to begin!

On my 2003 XLT 4x4, I currently have a 3" BL with after market keys giving me an additional 3" of T-bar crank. Needless to say, it has been a very "ROUGH" ride.

I purchased the Dixon Bros Racing long travel kit for the 4x4 Ranger with the optional cross member and bumpstops. I also purchased a set of Fox 2.5" x 8" coilovers with remote resivors and 3" x 18" 650lbs Eibach coils, through my loyal offroad gurus at Four Wheel Direct. Then I ordered custom fabed fiberglass fenders and bedsides from from the newly opened Fiberwerx in my area. I'm still deciding on options for my rear, so that will be decided soon at a later date. Not at this time, but i will roll cage the inside, install "3" full-size bucket seats, and redo my dash plus a quick shift. Everything has been ordered and paid for, so the waiting game begins!!!

Here are a few profile pics of where my rig stands right now:

Well, considering when I bought it from a junk yard (roll-over) 2 yrs. ago for $2000, I would say yes. But, as of now I have about $9000 into it, so no! After I do this install, it will definitely become a nice investment, lol...

Nice, it should be badass when it's done. Your truck needs more chrome though.

I totally agree! How much do you think it will cost to dip the whole truck in chrome? ...LOL...

It's so hard to make some of these decisions! Mine has always been Dixon Brothers 4x4 LT kit or SAS. Then once that is made there are tons of other options like shocks, fenders, tire sizes, etc.

Holy crap!
I was thinking the same thing. Why would you ever do that? Lose ANY suspension performance for the sake of "looking cool"....

awesome, going to a sweet ride. I always wanted the kit, but it would be a very expensive move for me. It would make me want to move south right away.

it hasn't been for the sake of looking cool, believe me (i've been kicked off of other forums for my opinions of people and their rig setups just for looks, lol...). i had to crank the $h*t out of my t-bars just to clear my 33's and i still rub from time to time.

Alright, I picked up my Fox 2.5 x 8 coilovers w/ 2.5 x 14 remote reservoirs on the way home from work. I got these in a 4-day turn around when it normally takes up to 2 weeks to get the shocks made for this kit. They are the new production line from Fox. They have changed their color from blue to black. My buddy also got Fox to throw on the galvanized steel fittings instead of the "gold colored ones" as well as the upgraded larger diameter black hoses and larger reservoirs. My 3 x 18 silver Eibach coils will be in tomorrow. Good-bye stock Bilstiens and torsion bars, hello ride quality and performance!!! Here are a few pics...

I just received the phone call I have been waiting for since the day I bought my truck a couple of years ago... "your Dixon Bros LT kit just got delivered".

I also got confirmation that the Eibach coils arrived as well. Hopefully I can get off of work in time today before the shop closes! So now, I have the Fox 2.5 coilovers in my possesion, the DBR kit and Eibach coils are waiting at the shop, and my Fiberwerx fenders are ready for pick-up. Install and pics to come very soon!!!
