Solution to a problem

Hi there

Finally moved across the Continent and the Ranger is here, it has become a head turner since is the only flareside in town and probably in the country, 99.5% of the Rangers here are 4 doors, and most of them diesel, which I wish I had at $8/gal.

I installed a Peragon aluminum bed cover while I was in TX and it suits me perfect, low profile and low maintenance, but due to my work I need to fabricate a ladder rack or rack that can carry a ladder and some other stuff, but the issue is that it has to be removable, kinda drop-it-in when you need it and take it out when you're done. The peragon cover is great because you can remove quite easily, but the rails are "permanent", so I was thinking about welding a square tubing structure in 2 parts (front and back)that can fit easily inside the bed opening, and brace them with more tubing, so you drop it in, screw a few bolts and you're done, but I don't know how to secure it to the bed, which I'd hate to drill. Was thinking a custom plate welded to one of the vertical post and screw that to the anchor points inside the bed.

Sorry for the long post, words are free and I like to share them :)

The idea here is to see if some of you have or have seen something like this, or provide me with some advice or pictures.

thanks a lot
