building an arb bumper

im built my mock up out of plywood to get the design right, and im picking up the plate sometime this week.

what would be a good thickness to use? i was thinking 11 gauge for the majority and .250 for the mounts.

and ideas would be cool,

i will post a image of my mock up. so far its similar to the custom4x4fab one. now, here is another question, where can i get the parts for the shackles for the front? i want to use the kind that have the pin so i can pop them off...if that makes sense.

get some 1" or 3/4" plate and have someone cut out triangles with holes in them, weld those to the bumper. i'm trying to find pics.

aha, that is exactly what i need.

so here are the mock up shots. the ports that have the stock tow hooks poking through, im most likey goign to abandon that idea, but i wanted to see how it would look. (i determined- not so good, haha)

Looks really good so far man. For the shackle mounts I would put them in the same location as your stock tow hooks or in that area.

thats my thinking. i kinda want to have them tied into the mounting plates, so the pulling force is directly on the mounts/frame vs the bumper.

put the mounting points on the outside of the stock hooks, put a mount for foglights between the stock hooks.
