well, we will see how it goes. right now im having a bit of trouble finding a distributor that will sell a 3x6 sheel of 1/8. they all want to sell a flatbed load, haha. as soon as i get the plate, im taking the mock up to a guy i know whos a fabricator. Im going to get him to help me cut out and bend up the face. the rest i can handle. Im going to borrow a plasma cutter too from a friend.
when its done- OE black or linex? Im thinking just black, as every creature that flies including birds will stick to it haha

Looks like you got a good one coming.
For my shackle mounts I cut a slot out of the bumper and ran the plate all the way to the back of the bumper and welded it up so it is not just a tab on the outside of the bumper taking all the pressure.
Best pic I can find, but basically just imagine the bumper being invisible and the shackle tab being one long piece going all the way back towards the truck frame. Might be overkill but makes me feel better when I'm jerking on it.

what if you mounted the shakle to a plate and mounted that behind the bumper. cut a slit in the bumper and weld the plate to the underside of the bumper? in case there isnt the room or for whatever reason. that way the pressure isn't totally at one point, but alittle dispersed too.
IMO i think you need tighter clearances between your bumper and your grill. but thats exactly how i was going to build mine i've been working on the side drawing for ever cuz i couldn't figure out the angles in my head. you have any drawings you could e-mail or fax?

when i said underside, i meant backside and have it sticking through. as for fogs and shackels. i'l try an do a diagram.

it put's your fog lights closer to the center of the vehicle. not sure of any benefits, but give some options.

update-
finally got my plate, 11gauge sheet. my welder who i get my materials from is hard to get a hold of, hes also the guy who builds all pastranas ramps. (pastrana lives right down the road from me). he just so happend to have a sheet of plate lying in the floor so i picked up right then.
im in the process of laying it out and then cutting out the face. once i get that cut out i will bend it up and add the rest in.
so maybe in the next week i will have a shell done. the mounts and winch basket will take some time as i want to make it light but still solid. i dont want unessisary steel in there if i dont need it.

another update- had time, so i busted *** today. got the shell done. still have to decide on what im doing about the fogs. i might just put piaa's in instead of stock ones. (also, if anyone knows how to splice into the stock switch, let me know haha).
the internal framing will be 1/4 probably. may use 1/8 if i can engineer it well.
so, if anyone has any shots of possible mounting ways- post em up.
pics in about an hour, as i need a shower bad and i cant hear for some reason...
