it isn't irrigation pipe.. its Schedule 40.. <1/2" walls

i think an XJ is pretty close to the same width, thats what camodown's bumper was originally then heavily modified

i did some research and found out that cherokees are the same width and found out that cammodowns bumper is from custom 4x4 fabrication. so i found this bumper and it looks like it would look really good minus all the brush guard crap.

i also found a local landrover shop that would fab up some brakets for me so i could put it on but when i asked him if he could custom make me a bumper he said it would cost around 1500 bucks which seems like highway robbery to me

It is going to take a lot of work to make that bumper look like it is supposed to fit on a ranger, so I don't want you to think that you can just make some brackets and it is going to look good. Nothing really matches up on it except the width and even then we had to redo the sides of it because it didn't match up.

I think between 120lbs and 130lbs. Never really weighed it once we finished. The shell started at 75lbs so I'm guessing we put about that much extra on it.

Also revo, you will need to upgrade your suspension in the front cause that much weight in the front will make things sag.

did you have to cut or change anything to make it fit or was it just for looks? and i already have B torsion bars which i think are the second strongest so couldnt i just crank the bars to compensate for the sag

Had to redo the way it was mounted, and it sticks out more than I want it too because I didn't want to cut into the bumper then it wouldn't be as strong. But you need to fill in places around the body lines because it will look like s#$t if you don't, the xj's are boxy and doesn't match the ranger at all and extend the sides to match the body lines, then I added the skirt around it to protect the radiator and lines under there better because the xj's radiator and such are tucked up higher than rangers, added the trim up top to match the body lines just for looks I guess but you will have like a 3 in. gap and will look ugly (to me).
I plated the winch hole cause I'm not getting one anytime soon, then added the tow hook mounts, drilled for light holes, added the bars but you can get creative with that or not have any, but I wanted something to break up how far it sticks out.

Then redid the mounting brackets again once I got a body lift

About 15 hours of work with me and my buddy at his shop and he is a certified welder and that is what he does for a living.

So you better check around unless you or you know somebody that can weld and fabricate things cause it can still get real expensive if you want it to look good. Cause trust me it won't look that good if you don't fix things about it. You will be able to tell 100% that it doesn't belong on there.

and b rated bars will not hold up. I got rancho shocks and #1 bars to make it not nose dive and bounce.

eh, just this site and a few owners here and ther though.. it costs so much money for R&D that selling 2-3 of a bumper wouldn't satisfy it, and/or it would cost a ton

we all have a different taste though.. its not like a super duty where EVERYONE of them have a damn ranchhand bumper
