Ford Ranger Roll Bar

I want a roll/light bar for my truck...no one makes them though...this really sucks, therefore, Im having one custom built for me, with a removable spare tire mount in middle and lights up top...check this out, its basically what it will look like...

I'll then be able to carry my spare and lock it down, also...Ill lock my Hi-Lift on it

I may get one at a later date. Rollovers are pretty dangerous and this would help a bunch.

I want something similar too just completely mounted to the bedrails. I just want it for the look and some overhead lights. I love the look of show bars like that.

Very true Rosemont...only thing is, I dont like how steep the rails go...Your truck is fukcing awesome..but on our shortbed stepsides, the steep rails look lame...thats just my opinion though, Im sure people think my design looks dumb too...but I do like the bars on yours...its looks better on your truck then it would on mine

I just think that looks kinda dumb, plus, I could get a lot more function out of my design, also...Grizzly is EXPENSIVE... :-/ Hopefuly a buddy can do it for cheap

Yes but here's what you have to understand about his bar vs what you want. With the bend you want to create at the bottom part of your rollbar, you are creating a massive stresspoint in the case of a rollover. Whereas his does have a stresspoint due to the long bar extension w/o countersupports his isn't AS likely to buckle under a rollover as yours would be. Chances are they would both crumble like a cracker but lets just say his is a little bit less likely.

with the bars do they mount right next to the wheel wells, or do they mount in the center of the bed, making the bed useless???

im sort of half and half on roll bars for our trucks. they remind me of the toyota from back to the future, lol- which keeps telling me outdated, but, i dunno, i kinda like them anyways. sucks that i have a flairside tho.. there's barely any room in my bed as it is.. i wouldnt be able to give up the space for a couple of polls to stick out of it.

Let me rephrase the title...from roll bar to light bar...think about it, if we were to have a roll bar for safety purposes...we wouldnt use one of these...we would use a full roll cage...these are for looks only..plus, to add lights on top, to lock down my hi-lift, shovel, and maybe put a removeble bolt-in bar between the two kickers to lock down my spare when I go out..
