Icon7 Prerunner bumper finally built!

I'm pretty new to ranger forums so I want to say what's up to everybody. This is my first post and I want to see what you guys think. Here's a few pics of the first prerunner bumper I've attempted. This took me about 3 days to finish because I had to teach myself how to weld. I used a mig welder and some cheap pipe bender I bought for $70. Tell me what you guys think.

Welcome to R-F man. Personally I would have tried to curl up wth ends of the upper tube a bit to meet with the form of the grill a bit more and also curled around closer to the wheel. But looks good for a first attempt.

Also, liking the coilover lift kit. Nice.

Looks good man!

I would have made it so you can take it off if you need to, but hey it works for you I guess!

Get some caps for those tubes so it doesn't start rusting!

Nice.

Where'd you score the cheap bender?? brand?

I looked up tube benders on Ebay and found one for $69.99. I saw that they were located in La Verne which is like 20 minutes away from me so instead of paying $60 for shipping i just picked it up. The place is called T Motorsports.

thats pretty badass for a first attempt. it would probably look better if it was more tucked up with the head lights but w/e

what size tubing and how thick is the skid plate?

I used 1 3/4" .120 wall DOM steel tubing. I didn't really know what to use so I found a few threads on what size other people used and I just went from there. I found a 1/8" piece of steel in my buddies garage so I used that for my skid plate. I want to get thicker piece but that will do for now. I'm going to start making another bumper soon and this time it will be 100% bolt on. Once I get that going I'll take the ideas people have given me and try to make it to everyone's liking.

What a lame bumper... you're truck is junk... I mean, seriously. WTF were you thinking? Only lame people who work at Home Depot have gay little ranger's like you...

I'll pick up some tube soon and we'll do mine. Still gonna need to use your bender.

Looks clean. Show 'em some pics of the rest of the truck.

Listen here son, you only wish your Ranger could run the Home Depot parking lot. I'm about to pick up some more tube myself so I can build one thats 100% bolt on. Who knows maybe I'll make one for you so when we take our trucks out yours won't look soo sad. But here are some more pics for you.

Howdy neighbor...

I usually don't like pre-runner bumpers (just not my thing) but I think that looks sweet on your truck, blends in nicely with your color scheme I like it.

Good start for your first one. Looks good, and get one going for Nick, he needs it, :) . You guys need to head on up to Pismo this year so we can get a meet going. I started with the 6.0 and now have their race L/T kit with links in the rear. Be prepared to spend a lot more, this sport is addicting!
