Using other truck models exhausts

i was browsing ebay and found a flowmaster dual kit with tips for a dakota thats only 200$. i realize that the humps will probably be in the wrong spot and id have to shorten the tubing but i have access to a welder to shorter then pipes...

any other problems i would have to look out for aside from length and the inlet size>?

if its just shortening the pipes to make the hump fit right over the axle then it is worth it because thats just an angle grinder and a quick weld

My muffler came off of a F-150. I didn't have any problems with it.

For $200 I'm sure you could find an exhaust kit, or pipes, made specifically to fit a Ranger. I wouldn't mess with mix-matching products.

Because it was a universal muffler, it should work on most truck applications.

EDIT:

Here is a Dual Exhaust kit specifically MADE for a Ranger, with a 2-chamber muffler (like flowmaster 40 series) for less than 230 bucks!
