yeah, i guess that was kinda obvious. I got tired of my front tube bumper and how far it stuck out. i just didnt like how the tube doesnt cover up all the junk that is behind it. this plate one should do the trick and still be plenty strong. its all 3/16". I think ill still have a stinger on the top of it to help protect the winch, but not nearly as big as the one on my current bumper. I also have quite a bit left over. Can you say rear bumper?

the autocad was nothing special. I just measured the cardboard cut outs i made (no, not even any pics of that on the truck) and modeled them out on a 3x3 sheet in a tight arrangement so i would waste as little metal as possible. I should make it in SolidWorks but im too lazy lol.
I thought about just making a few pieces and bending them, but i dont really have a good way to bent them and to get them at the correct angle so its all welding for me.
Thinking of herculining it instead of the rattle can bedliner stuff, but only time will tell.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I think i saw him getting trailored back to the pits and waiting for the ambulence.
I will be starting on the bumper tonight when i get back up to Hillsboro where my welder is. Ill post pics so dont worry.
wellcom2knoxvile, I wont be in corvallis for the summer (most likely) I am graduating this june and plan to move out the first weekend of summer to wherever I will be working.
my current bumper is for a body lifted truck so keep that in mind, but if anyone wants it and can come and get it either in corvallis or hillsboro just let me know and its yours.
