found a whipple supercharger

ok i found a whipple online and was wondering if $600 bucks sounds like a deal, my ranger has 120k on it and i know it is a little high milage for boost, i know i will need a tune for it to work without blowing up. just need some openions on this, is it really worth the 600 bucks for it? thanks.........oh yah the truck is a 2002 ranger 3.slow automatic trans, 2wd with 4.10 gear

dont you need a kit also to bolt it on? which is like 1 grand or am i mixing this up with something else?

it has the throttle body and intake manifold and supercharger all together.
