you can do that with a N/A motor also my Dad runs one of the Dyno's over at Ford and see that all the time.. when there that hot you can poke them with a screw driver and they just crumble... seen that done also...
but Forced induction its easier to get it that hot.. thus why your always supposed to watch your EGT's

looks like a rsx in the front and a gto the rest of the way down.... guess that makes sense since it is made in australia

that's pretty normal. the turbine housings are constructed with those temps in mind. I can't remember the number, but i remember looking at the engine data for a turbo match at work intended for a high-altitude mine truck and the temps we had to deal with were ludicrous. Wish i could remember the number.
