putting a turbo on my 3.0 ranger need some help
I am putting a t3 turbo on my 95 ranger. I am bolting it on between the headers and the cats I had a custom flange made. I am runing the charged pipes up to an intercooler and then into the TB. I have just about all the parts I need for the project but I have a few small questions. I have a external wastegate with a 5.8 psi spring in it and I am not sure if I run the vacum line up behind the TB where I am running to bov or if it has to be before the turbo. Also all the stock vacum lines will not be vacum once the turbo spins up so do I have to relocate all of them to before the turbo.

Another thing is that you might want to put a 03-04 cobra PCV in it.
Or... put a breather / filter on one of the valve covers. There is a fair chance you'll be seeing excessive pressure within the engines crankcase system.

I did not even think of just putting a filter on the breather that will work find and I will look into that pcv will it fil right in or need fab. but does anyone know what i need to do with the stock vacum situation. can they stay where they are or do then need to be run down below the turbo? thanks

get a large vaccume resovoir, and run every thing to it with on big line to the intake with a check valve.. and if needed run a vacuume pump to the resovoir and even disconnect it from the engine..
and im not quite sure what you were talking about with the blow off valve BUT the valve should be on the filter side of the TB with the vaccume line going to the engine side of the throttle body so that when you let off the throttle and the engine creates vaccume its opens the valve and relesess the pressure..
heres a simple diagrahm..
exhaust-----wastegate--turbo--------
turbo-------BOV-----throttlebody-----control vaccume lines for turbo-----second vaccume line with check valve for accressories.
since this is not going to be legal anyway get rid of a few of those cats (if i remeber correctly the 3.0 has like 6) and put like a single 3inch to a nice side exsit exhaust.. should sound SICK! might not even need a muffler with the turbo and the cats..

i found a lot of info just from looking around I am no just trying to figure out what to do with the fuel for now and later. I just want to run 3lbs at first so I think I can run on total stock. but then would like to bump it up to 5 or 6 lbs. then one day if I can get a fmu I could try running around 10lbs. has anyone ever used a fmu on a ranger and if so what injectors where they using, fuel pump size and how much boost were they running thanks

either run an aic with a controller or get a piggy back fc...dtec would probly work nice, simple install, cheap, and works using a gameboy...otherwise emanage or a safc2 would help but not a simple to install and the safc2 isnt the best for turbo set ups its better for n/a tuning...if youre looking to run 10 psi either run a set of 440 cc green tops (off of a crown vic police interceptor or a lightining) or just buy 2 of them and run an aic set up with them putting fuel in after the throttle body but you'll need a controller and someone that can do tricky welds to make a custom fuel rail for you. best bet and most affordable would be a dtec fc (which is expandable to also be a boost controller, ignition controller, etc.) with 440cc green top injectors...you'll also have to run wideband o2 sensors...you can eliminate wiring them to the ecu if you want your cel on otherwise i'd also buy an extra one or 2 and wire them to a afr gauge cuz youre gonna need to know when to richen it up and lean it out after you get this thing together otherwise youre gonna run like **** and ping...how much homework did you do on this set up?...you wouldve been better off running a twin set up with a couple of small turbo's..one on each side for equal pressure in the heads, straight 3 inch dual exhaust, run internal wastegates so you dont need to mess with so many vaccum lines, a big fmic..dual in single out, 70mm throttle body, open bov rather then a diverter or recirculating, 440cc injectors, and a dtec...emanage would probly be better for some all out tuning unless you wanna go crazy and get megasquirt which would be sweet....also dont forget to find a pressure line to tap for oil, and make sure its not a watercooled turbo cuz then you have to run a coolant line to it or youre gonna overheat

the vacuum lines are fine leave them alone, the main line will have a check valve from the factory, the wastegate needs to "read" manifold pressure to "open" at the right pressure, put it to the intake manifold plenum area, same with the blowoff valve, it doesn't have to be right behind the throttle body either... the pcv should be diverted to atmosphere under boost and switched back under no boost for best results but the stock pcv will hold up decent for a mild system like yours... and forget the intercooler.. too much plumbing and expense for 5 psi, you will see no benefit from it at that boost level..lol
