The D.

So as most know I bought a 97 CCLB 7.3 back in December, well its been nothing but a pain in the A. I call it 'The Diesel' or 'The D' for short. lol

Basically I owned it for a few months then the transmission started going nuts so I started replacing parts hoping it wasnt the transmission.

Parts replaced:

Gear selector/indicator
ICP
Fuel Lines
IPR
Fuel Filter
Batteries
Glow Plugs
Hood
Rear Bumper
Front Bumper
Rear ABS sensor
Wheel Cylinders
PanHard
Steering Box
PCM
ICP again
Fuel Pump
Fuel Lines again
CPS
Belt Tensioner
lockout hubs
tailgate

Several items are just cosmetic but so many issues with it running right and a big headache!

Im sure there is more and the wife was ready to kill me because it still wasnt running right. Bought this tonight, Hope to fix this truck, at least one issue. lol Im kind of excited about it. It was one thing I wanted when I was buying but couldnt find the right config.

Ford ZF5 7 3 Powerstroke Manual Transmission Swap Parts 94 97 | eBay

Painted the frame recently

oh yeah the pup likes the truck

Tank. Super clean too.

Considering all that was included, it looks like you got a good deal.

No I sold it. That was a bad buy from the start. Actually to be honest my luck with Fords has been terrible for the last few years. lol OR maybe I have bad choices? idk for sure.

It was rusting like no other and i decided to get aaway from it before it was really bad.

What ever happened to that 6.4L you had? I've been away for soooo long. I remember you were having issues with it.

Once I got it running good I sold it. Mainly so I could buy a house. I didnt need the high payments and monthly maintenance! lol
Most all 6.4 parts are dealer only! I hated that. lol

It was really just the cab corners, i was pressure washing it one day and it just blew a hole in the cab, i was like what the heck. I got looking into it more the metal was so thin there. Plus it was burning oil.

nice Zack! I was hoping to see some PSD love on here sometime. I'm starting to try to get mine all cleaned up now. Mine is all just cosmetic, runs real good. But I too wish I had a manual trans somedays. I have a 5" stainless exhaust that should be here monday!

Truck looks great. Do you notice much a difference driving such a long truck? Seems like parking lots would be a pain

if the turning radius is like my bronco, it shouldn't be bad to turn but parking it is a different story. my uncles was a bitch to park in 1 spot lol

At first it was a lot different. Now its not to bad driving. Parking on the other hand can be difficult. I think the hardest thing I have trouble with is backing a trailer up. It takes a different amount of time to make the trailer react with a large truck compared to before. Im getting used to it all tho.

Looks good, seems like you had to do what all these old Powerstrokes need. I know I like my Manual CCLB!!! I think the worst part about the CCLB is no one realizes you need about 3' more space to make a comparative turn!

Yeah they do need a lot of space to turn around! I love the 8' bed though.

Should be shifting gears by the weekend! My father in-law made a clutch alignment tool for me, now its just waiting on the heim for the clutch master cylinder and the pilot bearing.

Well everything was going good until i got back to installing the exhaust. no bueno. I am not sure what I will have to do. It wont clear the transmission or cross member.

Everything else is done and in besides driveshafts.
