Injector Time
Time for new injectors, got blue smoke on starts and a miss that irritates me. Decided to do a slight upgrade while I was at it, so I have some Bean's reman Stage 1 160cc single shots on the way. A slight bump in power, and usually economy, while still being able to tow big and not black out everyone behind (ok, maybe more so with a turbo upgrade as well).
Either way. Parked the truck at 2, had the injectors out by 5. A lot quicker than I anticipated, or else I would have waited until my new injectors arrived.
Of course now that the truck is parked and I'm using my 2wd Sierra backup truck, we have over an inch of rain and snow in the forecast, lmao. Can't wait to see what difference the new sticks make!
Thanks for looking, will update pending progress.

I was actually looking forward to tearing partway into the engine for the first time. Didn't enjoy standing on a 5 gallon bucket the whole time to work on everything though lol!
Hah, well it's not normal, but it happens. Temps were a couple degrees above freezing Saturday, with snow that turned to rain when it hit the ground with a cold wind. Yesterday I spent most of the day riding the DRZ around with a buddy in t-shirt weather, crazy weather.
How much smoke does she blow? lol, kind of hard to tell by looking at them.
Hah, yeah I don't envy anyone wrenching on anything newer than a 7.3, it's insanely easy to tear into these compared to a 6.0 or your 6.4. Being a thinner fella sure helps weasel my way into some of the tight spots thankfully!
Haha, hey freddie! Where in the world have you been? The performance bug has infected me! Already pricing turbos for this fall lol.
Thanks for the comments guys!

A little update, the truck fired Friday fine*, all went well, however . . . Beans must have made a mistake burning the chip or something because there is some serious drive-ability issues unfortunately. A quick summary, extremely touchy throttle (for a manual), idle lopes HARD, absolutely no power in any setting besides Hot and Daily (like not enough to get to 60mph), and it feels like it's not fueling 100%.
On the positive side, there is certainly more power. EGT's and boost run lower that the stock sticks under the same load. The turbo lights noticeably quicker and lower, and under full throttle in the Hot setting, it runs clean as a whistle after the turbo lights (10lbs and up). If it wasn't for the little quirks I'd be happy as a clam!

30 psi drivin round?! Thats not good. I drove my brothers built Cummins and I had to have my foot buried in it to boost it up to 40 psi (not to mention, I couldnt see anything behind me HA! Smoke Screen)
And dont talk about blowin black smoke on here. Most the guys on here dont appreciate diesels

We appreciate diesels or we wouldn't have them. I drive 2 different ones every single day.
My 04 powerstoke is over 400hp. My 07 Dodge 6.7 Cummins is stock. Its my company truck and is almost always pulling a gooseneck or whatnot for my job in the oil/gas field. There are hundreds of diesels out on site everyday.
Congrats sniper on the newfound power in your truck. I agree with zach on working on the newer trucks. The 7.3 and 6.0 and 5.9s aren't bad. But looking at a 6.4 or 6.7 I would dread tearing into one of those

I would pay more to have a non smoking truck so no one would know I have a little more Hp then most. Not that I really care, but I can generally agree that a bunch of smoke at an intersection really gives Diesel engines a bad rap.

The only times I intentionally blow smoke is to ward off tailgaters, or dumb/bad drivers that truly deserve it, or out on the highway in the middle of no-where. Traffic and near other cars or pedestrians and bikers is not the place for smoke. With that said, my biggest tune with these new, bigger injectors smoke less and run cooler than my stockers . . . how awesome is that?
Just wanted to say, I talked to Jonathan at BDP, and he's going to do his best to get this straightened out. Suspected it could be my older/weaker HPOP, so when he gets some more chips, he'll try a few new burns to see what works best. Stand up guy, was a pleasure to deal and talk with.
Now pricing out SRP1 pumps lol. I keep telling myself I don't want or need more power, but when a person can gain power, mileage, reliability and a better running engine with a product, it's hard not to hand over your wallet lol.

Nope. Started reading some feedback of guys having issues with them. Snap ring failures, leaks, etc. However it sounds like they're in the works of releasing an updated version, so I'll check that out when there is some details on that. Plus I've got some other things to work on first (rusty fenders to fix and flares to paint and install, rear locker, and tuning issues to solve). So a HPOP may be a while off, lol. Stocker will push 2900psi @ 32% IPR, so it's not an urgent upgrade by any means.
You need to make a thread with some new pictures of your truck (OBS), I'm getting tired of my current wallpapers, hah!
