A "Baby" Update

Hey guys! I thought I'd post up a couple of pics and just check in and say hello. Things have been pretty busy lately in life. The F250 has been good to me- 35,000 trouble free miles since March 2009 when I sold the Ranger.

I've been doing a lot of ATV riding lately. Sometimes I just throw my Grizzly in the bed of the truck, and other times I'll tow a flatbed with 2-3 bikes. Nothing big. I like how I can get my four wheeler in the bed of the truck and still close the tailgate.

A lot of times we ride until after dark and loading up is sometimes a pain, especially strapping everything down. I wired up some waterproof LED strips under the bed rails. So far they're working out great. I have them wired up to an upfitter switch and I am also in the process of wiring up a secondary switch in the bed that works independent of the upfitter (which is only hot with the ignition in the Run position). I just about have everything wired up; all I need to do now is tap the LED (+) wire with my always hot BAT (+) wire.

[do note the slightly different color LEDs. I told the company that one was a lot more blue in color and they sent me a new strip. I was impressed]

You can see the interior. I wired them up to upfitter #3.

Otherwise, I haven't done too much truck stuff lately. My wife and I are expecting our first in December. We're [I'm] painting, putting together the crib, changing station, and other furniture for the baby's room. It's the most awesome feeling ever! This was my wife several weeks ago at week 23.

Anyway, hope all is well.

Congrats on the little brat!
It seems like I know a ton of people due in Nov-Dec this year, crazy.

Who makes the led lights?

congrats on the new baby! Good luck too!

Love your truck! I should have bought one instead of a diesel.

Thanks for the well wishes, gentlemen. I've been a member of this forum for quite a while, so some of you "old timers" are kind of like a big, extended family.

The LED light strips were purchased from an online company called Oznium. They have all kinds of LED stuff for sale there. I purchased the 19" flexible strips because they were pretty much ready to mount and wire up to a 12v source. I submerged them before installing them to test out just how waterproof they are, and have had no problems. I just wish I would have put them side by side to see the color difference before I installed them. I would have saved a little time but it was no big deal in the end.

My wife and I are having a little girl. It's hard to describe how happy we are. We've wanted children for a long time. When we found out we were pregnant, I literally felt like the biggest, most macho man in Texas. When I told that story to my friend who is already a dad he said, "Just wait until the baby is delivered." He was the proudest papa I've ever seen.

Back on topic- I guess I can look at it this way. When my daughter is 16, a 2011 Ford Ranger ought to be just about right for her first car. We can fix it up together. So if you're an owner of a brand new Ranger, please keep all your maintenance records for us... we'll pay extra! LoL

Oh cool, I've been thinking about using those Oznium strips for the same exact thing. Looks like they work great!
