CB almost mounted...

I've been kicking around a few ideas of where to put my CB in the truck. Currently, I've been working on putting it under the radio. This is what I've got so far.

I'm not sure if this is going to be the final version or just a prototype. I guess I'm just kicking around some ideas. Since the speaker is on the bottom of the CB, I'm not exactly sure how it will sound inside the dash lol, but I have a little external speaker that I can mount in the cubby hole behind the cupholder if that's an issue. We'll see. I'll update once I get everything installed and Alon's antenna mount! WOOOOOO!!

Looks awesome, I wanted to put mine in the HVAC controls area and move them somewhere else, but I probably won't lol.

Yeah that's not a bad idea either....if you had a bigger sized CB I can see how that would work. I've had this little Uniden for awhile now and it's always worked really well for what I use it for, so I'm just going to keep it.

Putting a CB where those controls are would be really custom looking, but I'm not patient enough to move all that madness lol

Yeah I have one of the big Cobras, I think when I get my full console I'll do that, i'll have to move the CB anyway. I like it where it is right now tho.

I had that same radio hanging between the visors on my little 2wd Ranger. Was a perfect fit.

As far as the Mic, lol, not sure yet what I'm going to do with it, but the JB weld isn't a bad idea. Maybe some of that Mighty Putty stuff lol

Looks really nice and clean. I'd mount the mic holder on the dash panel just to the left. And yeah your gonna want to run the external speaker.

Thats a huge antenna Terry. I am doing the same thing with my 3ft Firestik on a spring mounted to the toolbox. As well as my Whelen Amber LED TIR3 warning lights. Love having the toolbox to mount stuff.

ive got the same cb... i dunno if its just the newer rangers that have a slot under the hvac controls that fits the radio perfectly... as for the mic, i just sling it over the rearview

yea..the antenna isnt that long....i thought about putting my firestick on but i like the whip antenna. I have 2 firesticks, 1 wilson 5000, and this one that on the truck currently. I'm not sure what is up with my cb right now...its not picking anything up at all....all i get is static....my father suggested that it may need tuning.....but now we cant find his cb tuner for anything...anyone have one????lol. It worked fine in my old 94...when i sold that truck i took everything out and everything sat for about a year..and now i decided i will lose the ashtray and put the cb back in and now it wont pick up anything...any suggestions?

I like where you've got the CB mounted, but I've got that passenger airbag switch and didn't want to have to relocate it. Looks good though, nice mount! Do you get any engine noise/interference on the CB running through the accessory outlet like that?

Thats how I've run cb's and I myself haven't gotten any interference.

What kind of range do you get with the Wilson? I have the same radio, the 29 WX NW ST or something like that.

That's cool. I was thinking of tying mine into the accessory outlet for power and see how it does.
