there are about...8-10 clips holding it onto the piece that surrounds the grill and goes under the lights. There are also 4 screws holding it on on the top. Take off the screws and carefully pop the grill out. Make sure not to break any of the clips when you take it out.

I think thats right. (so sad, i took mine out today, and cant remember)

I had to take mine off...cuz I was taking off my old one and putting my stock one back on...if you taped it off, you would get paint all over the stuff behind your grill...unless you dont care about that?

for u guys with the flames

easiest way is to remove the whole grille shell. take off the 6 5.5mm bolts at the top, and use a screwdriver to pry loose the 6 metal clips that hold it in at the bottom (if you've never done it before take off one of the headlights so you can get a good look at how they work first.)

I painted my speed grille still attached to the grille shell today, just masked it off. Then like a moron I scratched my bumper putting it all back together.

I was talking about those clips yes. You could just tape that off and paint it instead of taking the grill off, so you dont break those clips.
