What brand Sway bars did you go with?

Mine came with one, so I guess OEM...

 

lucky... I'm going with Hellwig since Hillbank is out of stock AND started charing $115 for shipping... I can get the rear sway for 165... vs 285 for Hillbanks Roush one...

 

what are the options for explorer axles? like ones to buy

 

Go for it, I installed my Hellwig bar this past sunday, and now my trucks handling outperforms the rubber thats on the truck:D

I can now take various curves that I always slowed down on before due to body roll...

its not super noticeable unless you remember various places you have gone, and now dont even think about taking at different (higher) speeds.

A few tips on the hellwig...the INSTRUCTIONS SUCK...

1. assemble the end links and brackets first, and both brackets and endlinks on the truck...the gas tank side is a PITA to reach the inside nut with a box wrench.

2. install the swaybar next, then bring it up to meet the end links, you'll have to muscle the one side up/down after its centered and clamped.

to ensure the bar is not hitting the shock mount on either side, i used a 1/2" metal block between the bar and mount to make sure it never got too close when tightening the U-bolts down...watch the brake lines...I didn't have to bend anything

sure postem up! thanks for the tips, I've got the money for this, it came from the "HID Fund" lol... so I'm gonna hold out a few more weeks till we get better weather, I can't work in 107 degree weather...

 

I wonder how that would perform on my truck its already rides like its on rails that im lowered 5/6 I cant imagine it handling better.

Ive taking a 180 turn on the highway and gone 70 and still be straight on the line as its turning.

I just checked it tonite to verify everything is still tight, yup, all ok.

I did mine in 94 deg, PA delaware valley at 90% humidity:D

assemble some things first, and it goes faster:D


As per the lowered truck guy, this helps on the higher vehicles, I dunno if it would help/add to your current lower center of gravity state:D

 

I think they come with rear sway bars...

 

ok, heres the pics as installed


heres the left bracket and end link, I assembled mine with the head of the link bolt on the bracket side, makes it easier to get the box wrench off:D

oh, and the inside nut by the gas tank is a PITA.




heres the right bracket and endlink installed, same thing with the head of the endlink bolt.




and heres the swaybar as installed on the axle. Its a neat silver/black speckle painted bar too. I have 1/2" clearance on the shock mounts, and plenty of clearance on the brake lines, no brakeline bending or moving was necessary.



amazing how a little thing like that makes a world of difference in handling.

also, its been a week since install, nothing has loosened up at all.

btw, you will end up with extra parts from the kit.
Extras:
2 long silver bolts
2 short black spacers

I have no idea what those are for, but they dont mount up to anything, I dont know why they include them....unless its for the mazda version.
