Mod Day! (Nite Shade!)

Heres the photography.......not to much to show but hey its enough!

Original Rear Shot.

After the nite shade!

before and after.

Ok guys .......this was a very easy mod. Had fun while doing it. I would recommend using a fan to quickly dry the paint. It says to wait 6 hours......im to impatient for that.....fan speeds that up alot.

yes the lights can still be seen just fine thorugh the lens unless you use like 20 coats. i wouldnt use a fan to dry them since youre pushing dust and debris right onto them, which COULD mess up the finish of the paint. with the nite shades, i found out patience is the key. take the time and do it right, and it will come out very well!!

it does hold up well, i know it will last for a few years at least. the stuff has been around for a LOOOONG time. it already has clearcoat in it, so i never used any, but it couldnt hurt.

Summit sells it and you can probably get it through anyone who carries VHT paint.

That is really dark, I would have masked off the reverse light, but thats just me. I may have Bob shoot another coat or two on the tails I got from him.

Yeah i think i over did it a little bit but at this point i dont really care. I have euros here that i can swap out and use paint thinner to remove and try again. Actually the reverse light shines through perfectly. They look amazing at night but during the day are difficult to see. Oh well some things are trial and error. Maybe one day ill try again.

im going to do this soon, my only worries are my strobes i have in the tail lights.

im going to find an older set from the junk yard, and paint them, then drill holes for the bulbs and see how it does, if its still very visible, ill do it, if not, oh well i tried
